NFL legend Tom Brady announces Chicago Bears decision
Retired New England Patriot Hall of Famer Tom Brady speaks during a statue unveiling before a game against the Washington Commanders at Gillette Stadium.

Tom Brady is widely considered as the NFL’s GOAT. He retired from playing in 2022 but remains one of the league’s most influential figures. The former quarterback announced a Chicago Bears decision on Wednesday.

The Bears are coming off a 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. Caleb Williams once again delivered a strong performance, completing 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. It was the team’s third straight victory, coinciding with the star quarterback’s return from a three-game absence.

Meanwhile, Brady serves as Fox Sports’ lead color commentator. He signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with the network in May 2022 and became the highest-paid sports commentator in history.

Tom Brady releases update involving the Chicago Bears

Brady released his NFL power rankings entering Week 9. He has the Bears at the top spot after they left him impressed following their “Monday Night Football” performance against the reigning Super Bowl champions. Chicago excelled on both ends of the field, particularly on defense with the debuting Jeffery Simmons.

“The Bears went into Seattle on Monday night and handled their business,” Brady said. “There’s something about the vibe in Chicago that sold me on giving them the top spot.”

The Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars round out the top five. Chicago is currently second in the NFC North with a 6-2 record, trailing the Minnesota Vikings, which lost its first game last Sunday.

The Bears will return to action on Sunday when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Soldier Field. They will have a chance to extend their winning streak to four games before entering their bye week. However, it won’t be easy as the visiting team has won two straight and three of its last four assignments. NBC will air the Week 9 clash live at 8:20 p.m. ET.
