The Chicago Bears have left no stone unturned during their search for their next head coach. This was once again proven late Saturday night when it was announced that they would be interviewing a former player and current HBCU head coach:

Eddie George enjoyed a legendary college career at Ohio State and then in the NFL, mostly with Tennessee. During his time with the Titans he rushed for 10,009 yards and 64 touchdowns while being named to the All-Pro team six times.
He was a surprise hire by Tennessee State back in 2021. Being his first head coaching experience, he has led the Tigers to 24-22 record, which included a best 9-4 season in 2024, a first-place finish in the Big South-OVC and a berth in the FCS playoffs.
This is an interesting interview selection by the Bears. Is George ready to take the leap from the Big South-OVC to the NFL? Probably not, but it does show the potential of his trajectory. He has proven himself as a quality head coach and recruiter, which should continue to be proven in the coming years.
Remember his name, as it is likely that you'll be hearing of him again in the coming years. And probably sooner than later.
