NFL makes Caleb Williams announcement amid offseason

Caleb Williams established himself as one of the best young stars in the NFL last season. He entered the campaign with many doubting whether he could lead the Chicago Bears to success. The quarterback more than silenced his critics by guiding the franchise to an NFC North title and reaching the Divisional Round.

He produced impressive numbers, completing 330-of-568 passes for 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Williams also shone by showcasing his on-field demeanor, remaining calm under pressure. His strong play attracted a lot of attention to the Bears, and they will play seven primetime games in 2026.

Williams’ popularity rose not just in Chicago but across the nation. He aims to surpass his numbers from last season and help lead the Bears to a deeper playoff run despite facing the toughest schedule.

NFL announces rise in Caleb Williams’ jersey sales

The Official NFL Shop announced that the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner’s jersey is the highest-selling in the league for the month of June. His navy game jersey and white classic jerseys beat other stars to become the No. 1 best-sellers.

Next on the list are Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza and new Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett. New England Patriots passer Drake Maye and Buffalo Bills signal-caller Josh Allen round out the top five.

Williams produced some highlight-reel-worthy plays in 2025 and orchestrated multiple comeback wins for Chicago. EA Sports named him the cover athlete for Madden 27, featuring his Superman pass in the graphics.

Chicago filled some positional needs this offseason. It added Coby Bryant and drafted Dillon Thieneman at No. 25 to bolster the safety position. The team acquired center Garrett Bradbury from New England to give Williams added protection, while signing Devin Bush to bolster the defensive line.

Next season will be a big test for Williams and Co. Another strong campaign will cement their place as a team of the future. They could also surprise many if they can show that they are serious Super Bowl contenders as early as 2026.
