The Philadelphia Eagles made it two wins in a row on Saturday after taking down the Washington Commanders in a road game at Northwest Stadium, 29-18.
Jalen Hurts led the charge for the defending champions, registering 22-of-30 completed passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Saquon Barkley also turned in an eye-catching performance with 21 carries for 132 rushing yards and one touchdown.
This win saw the Eagles improve to 10-5, officially clinching the NFC East championship for the second straight year. It has been far from a flawless campaign for Philadelphia, but it was still able to get the job done with two games remaining in the regular season.
The Eagles’ victory also officially shut the door on the Dallas Cowboys’ playoff hopes. Dak Prescott and Co. are second in the division and were hoping for a miracle to keep their postseason dreams alive. Philadelphia’s win on Saturday, however, officially eliminated Dallas from playoff contention as the Eagles also beat out the Cowboys for another division title.
The NFL took to social media to make an announcement about the Eagles’ division title-clinching victory.
“The Eagles clinch the NFC East and become first back-to-back NFC East Champs since 2004 ” NFL+, the league’s official streaming channel, posted on X.

The Eagles are now headed back to the playoffs with the objective of defending their title. There are still three weeks remaining in the regular season, and there are still a lot of variables that will decide who Philly will face in the opening round.
Hurts and Co. will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 28, for a road game against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The Eagles will close out the campaign with a home game against the Commanders in Week 18.
