Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are on a high right now after securing two massive wins in a row over a span of five days. The Cowboys took down the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday, Nov. 23, with one of the biggest upsets of the season. Dallas followed up that victory by defeating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day, 31-28.

Over those two games, Prescott was able to complete 50-of-75 passes (66.7%) for 674 yards and four touchdowns. The three-time Pro Bowler also registered eight carries for one rushing TD.

Prescott, however, was involved in an incident in last Sunday’s victory over the Eagles — one that has now prompted a final decision from the NFL.

Prescott turned in an incredible performance against the champs. In fact, the 32-year-old made history by setting a new franchise record for the most passing yards. The Eagles did all they could to try and stop Prescott, but in the end, the star quarterback was able to will his team to victory.

At one point in the second quarter, however, Cowboys offensive tackle Tyler Guyton was flagged for a tripping penalty. The 24-year-old got caught extending his leg as he was blocking for Prescott. Guyton was called for a personal foul on Eagles linebacker Jalyx Hunt, who was charging at Prescott for a sack attempt.

Guyton was able to prevent Hunt from getting to Prescott, but the Cowboys OT’s move was deemed illegal, resulting in an automatic 15-yard penalty in favor of the Eagles. Despite the setback, however, Dallas was still able to score on the drive, with Prescott finding George Pickens on a one-yard TD pass for the Cowboys’ first touchdown of the game.

As for Guyton, his actions put him at risk of receiving a hefty fine from the NFL. According to the league’s rulebook, tripping fouls carry a potential fine of $12,172 for a first offense and $17,968 for a second offense.

The good news for Guyton and the Cowboys is that he has been spared by the NFL. The league reviewed the incident and decided not to fine the former first-round pick. The NFL announced its punishment decisions for Week 12 via the gameday accountability report on Saturday, and Guyton’s name was not included on the list.

It is worth noting that Guyton was already fined once this season. He was slapped with a $12,172 penalty for unnecessary roughness in their season-opening loss to the Eagles. This was after the former Oklahoma Sooners star put a head slap on, incidentally, Jalyx Hunt.

The 6-5-1 Cowboys get a week off before their next game. They will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 4, in a Week 14 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
