Christian McCaffrey turned in another strong performance for the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. The two-time All-Pro running back was an absolute force as he helped lead the Niners to a 20-9 victory over the Carolina Panthers. McCaffrey registered 24 carries for a game-high 89 yards and one rushing touchdown. He also added seven catches for 53 yards.

Thanks in part to McCaffrey’s impressive play, the Niners were able to make it back-to-back wins following their Week 11 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. San Francisco has now improved to 8-4 and climbed to No. 7 in the NFC.

McCaffrey made history again in Monday’s game, prompting a big announcement from the NFL.

McCaffrey is now in his fourth season in San Francisco. In 2024, he signed a two-year, $38 million extension to maintain his status as the highest-paid running back in the NFL. The 29-year-old has proven this season that he’s worth every penny of that deal. In 12 games played, McCaffrey has already registered 796 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 217 carries.

On Monday night, McCaffrey rewrote the history books yet again after logging another 50-yard rushing game. The NFL took to social media to announce the 49ers star’s latest career milestone.

“Christian McCaffrey joins Larry Centers and HOF Marshall Faulk as the only RBs in NFL history to have 50+ rec yards in at least 50 career games,” NFL+, the league’s official streaming service, posted on X.

As the post indicates, McCaffrey has joined elite company with his latest feat. This speaks volumes about how he’s already established his legacy at this point in his career.

McCaffrey will want to keep his foot on the gas for San Francisco’s next game. This comes in the form of a Week 13 matchup against Shedeur Sanders and the 3-8 Cleveland Browns. The Niners will be the favorites in that contest, but Sanders and Co. have a bit of momentum on their side after their Week 12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Browns will host the 49ers on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
