NFL Makes Major Chiefs, Chargers Announcement During Schedule Release

Now that the NFL draft cycle is over, there is a lull in the action until training camp starts which means the league gets to complete its housekeeping items.

Currently, the NFL is slowly rolling out the 2025 regular season for a year that will feature the most international games ever on the slate.

It’s been rumored for weeks that the Los Angeles Chargers will play in Brazil in week 1, but their opponent remained a mystery.

The league themselves haven’t come out and confirmed the matchup yet, but it has been heavily reported that they will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a heated division showdown.

Since Andy Reid made the move to Kansas City back in 2013, the only team who has been to resemble anything similar to an equivalent is the Chargers, and that still holds true today.

The Denver Broncos have made tremendous strides but they are still a young team who is merely a stepping stone for the Chiefs to reach their ultimate goal.

The once storied Las Vegas Raiders franchise has been in disarray for nearly the entire century, so Los Angeles is the only team with a fighter’s chance of competing with the defending AFC champions.

With Jim Harbaugh taking control of the franchise last year and attempting to change the culture, the expectations have only increased.

Justin Herbert has been regarded as an elite quarterback near the realm of Patrick Mahomes since he entered the league and he will have his opportunity to prove it in week 1 on a global stage.

Despite an embarrassing end to last season, the Chargers had an overwhelmingly positive season and they have a chance to pick up where they left off in Brazil and keep improving their stature in the NFL.
