Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys saw their three-game winning streak come to a close in Week 14's edition of "Thursday Night Football," dropping to 6-6-1 on the 2025 NFL season after a 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys were coming off one of their best wins of the season in Week 13, taking down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 on Thanksgiving Day.
With 11:15 remaining in the fourth quarter of Cowboys vs. Chiefs, Prescott handed the ball to Javonte Williams for a 3-yard touchdown, giving Dallas the lead. On the ensuing two-point attempt, Prescott hit George Pickens in the end zone before taking a shot to the facemask from Kansas City defensive end Charles Omenihu. The officials threw a flag for roughing the passer, which was enforced between downs.
And with his illegal hit against Prescott, Omenihu faced a potential fine from the league. In the NFL, players can be fined up to $17,389 for a first roughing the passer offense, which can increase to $23,186 upon a second violation. However, fortunately for Omenihu, the NFL elected not to fine him.
While Omenihu wasn't fined, Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was charged $46,371 for an illegal use of the helmet against Dallas. On the flip side, Cowboys safety Markquese Bell was fined $11,593 for a facemask.
This would not have been the first time Omenihu was fined during his seven-year career. In 2019, with the Houston Texans, the defensive end was charged $28,075 for a blindside block against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And before making his Kansas City debut, Omenihu was also hit with a $360,000 fine and a three-game suspension for violating the personal conduct policy.
