The New England Patriots faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium.

The Patriots sat at 7-2 entering the game, with losses to the Las Vegas Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers. They also won their previous six games.

Stefon Diggs has led the way for the Patriots in receiving so far this season. He had 508 yards and two touchdowns coming in.

But during Sunday's game, Diggs surpassed a mark on his first reception that not many other active players have reached.

He needed just one more yard to reach 11,000 receiving yards for his entire career.

The NFL announced the news shortly after it happened.

"Stefon Diggs becomes 7th active player with 11,000+ career receiving yards," the NFL said.

The six other players are DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, Keenan Allen and Tyreek Hill.

Diggs, in his 11th season in the NFL and his first with the Patriots, caught five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown as New England escaped with a 28-23 victory to move to 8-2.

He spent last season with the Houston Texans, 2020-23 with the Buffalo Bills and 2015-19 with the Minnesota Vikings.

Diggs is a four-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro. He led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards in 2020.
