The football world is very used to "winners and losers" list after free agency and the NFL Draft. And while the schedule release might not yield enough takeaways for that to make sense, if we were to put one together for the 2025 season, I'd list the Buffalo Bills atop the winners column.
That's because the NFL made the Bills' biggest advantage to become Super Bowl winners even better following the release.
Going into Wednesday, the Bills were already projected to have the fifth-easiest schedule in the NFL (based on projected win totals, which is a much better method than using last year's records).
The difficulty—or lack thereof—of the Bills' schedule has a lot to do with drawing the weakened NFC South and big question marks for divisional opponents within the AFC East.
However, the Bills have big challenges awaiting them on their schedule, mostly in the form of the top dogs of the AFC: The Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals. Starting by the Bills and in that order, those are the top four teams favored to win the conference. They do get the advantage of playing each of them at home, but we already knew that.
So how does the schedule make it better? Each of those games is significantly spread apart!
That can be an advantage in so many ways. The Bills sort of get insurance for short-term injuries not derailing the season with key losses. It also simply makes it easier to prepare for their toughest opponents. It's a big win.
Oh, and I feel like I should mention: The Chiefs game follows the Bills' matchup versus the Carolina Panthers and they get the Mason Rudolph-led Pittsburgh Steelers before hosting the Bengals.
I don't know about you but that's one favorable schedule if you ask me. As for the rest of it, you can check it out below. An easy schedule means a higher chance at a No. 1 seed. In a league where playoff seeding is unbelievably important, that's a big advantage for the Bills, who hope to win their first Super Bowl ever.
