NFL 'MNF' Week 15: Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting picks, preview

The NFL Week 15 slate will come to a close on "Monday Night Football" when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Seattle Seahawks for an NFC showdown. The Eagles can overtake the No. 1 spot in the NFC East standings with a win, while the Seahawks need a win to keep pace in the wild-card battle.

Let's break down the "MNF" matchup and find some winning bets along the way.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting odds, preview

Spread: Eagles -3.5, Over/under: 45, Moneyline: Eagles -192 | Seahawks +160

This week's "Monday Night Football" matchup is clouded with quarterback uncertainty on both sides. Geno Smith, who missed last week's game against the San Francisco 49ers, seems to be on the wrong side of questionable with his groin injury. As for Jalen Hurts, he didn't practice on Saturday due to an illness and had to travel to Seattle on a separate plane.

Hurts should be able to suit up on Monday night, but he will be playing through some type of sickness.

Even with the QB uncertainty, the spread in this game hasn't moved much throughout the week. The Eagles are still hanging out around a 3.5-point favorite, but that line could move before kickoff if Smith is ruled out.

Drew Lock stepped in and threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers, but he also threw two interceptions. The bigger problem was the defense, which let San Fran score 28 points and rack up 527 yards of offense. Clint Hurtt's unit will need to play much better this week to give Seattle a fighting chance.

'Monday Night Football' betting picks

Eagles -3.5 (-110 DraftKings)

This is a simple handicap. The Eagles are coming off a gauntlet in which they played five straight games against teams ranked sixth or better in overall DVOA. Philly ran out of gas by the end with two blowout losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, but the team gets an extra day or rest this week and a much easier matchup against the Seahawks.

Seattle has given up 33.3 points over the last three weeks, and the defense ranks 28th in the NFL in yards per game allowed. Whether it's Lock or a hobbled Smith under center for the Seahawks, we don't see them keeping up with an Eagles offense that's primed to explode.

Kenneth Walker III over 1.5 receptions (-120 DK)

In Lock's first start of the season last week, he opted for shorter passes for much of the game. He targeted Kenneth Walker III five times and connected with him for four catches and 33 yards. The Eagles haven't been good in coverage of late, but this defensive line can still generate a ton of pressure in a friendly matchup.

The Eagles will be able to speed up Lock and force a ton of check-downs, and Walker will be his first look in those situations.
