Week 2. The Chiefs and the Eagles are playing in Week 2.
For a bit, I figured I'd tease the HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT a little longer. Keep 'em wondering, etc. But that's not what you're here for – you want answers, and I respect that. So here's the answer: the Chiefs and the Eagles are playing in Week 2. It's a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, which you surely don't need to be reminded of, but it never hurts to think a little about last year's Super Bowl again. That runway's getting shorter by the day.
The news comes courtesy of Jordan Schultz, and also, like, 15 other people on Twitter. At this point you can find it literally anywhere. But Schultz tweeted it, and at some point in the last couple years we aggregators apparently got together and decided that HE was the guy whose tweets we were going to embed in our blogs. So here's his tweet, embedded in my blog:
"Sources: The Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs is set for Week 2 in Kansas City," Schultz tweeted on Wednesday morning. "With kickoff at 4:25 PM ET on FOX."
I guess if it can't be a primetime game, the 4:25 kickoff is as respectful as it's going to get. A 1PM time slot competing against, like, Bills-Cardinals would be too insulting. Also kind of a bummer it's in Kansas City, but that's life. [Puts on Eagles' helmet] I know the league wants to give the Chiefs every advantage they possibly can, so ultiamtely I'm not surprised.
So there you have it. Week 2. The Eagles and the Chiefs are playing in Week 2. It'll be in the afternoon of Week 2. I hope I've written Week 2 enough for our SEO overlords to pick this up and appreciate my efforts. I'll see you all in Week 2, which is the week that the Eagles and the Chiefs play.
