The new regime the Jacksonville Jaguars have in town means business. We are seeing some of that already with their decisions before free agency. They got rid of the guys they didn't need, while also saving money. That's what they needed with a fresh start.
The Jaguars have also made the right signings needed to address their team's biggest issues. We heard new general manager James Gladstone say that the biggest and most important thing was going to be to making sure quarterback Trevor Lawrence was protected. Their signings of Patrick Mekari and Robert Hainsey are just that. And then there is, of course, the Dyami Brown signing, too, to give Lawrence another deep threat to throw to other than just Brian Thomas Jr.
And those aren't the only moves the Jaguars have made, but they are some of the most important ones. If they are going to turn this thing around, the Jaguars need to make the right decisions from here on out. And, that includes in free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft.
Free agency just started, but they can already start to plan out how they want to attack the draft based on some of the signings they have made. And, now they know exactly where they will be picking, too.
The Jaguars have 10 draft picks, which is more than enough to work with. And who knows, they could always use some of those picks to trade up, too. Things are going to start getting crazy here soon, especially if the Jaguars want to jump the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans for the AFC South crown in 2025.
