Jayden Daniels had a special rookie season with the Washington Commanders, but he's not satisfied with his results.
During the 2024 NFL season, Daniels threw for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The former No. 2 overall pick also had 891 yards and six scores on the ground. Not only did he go 12-5 in the regular season as the starter, he led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game.
Although Week 1 of the 2025 season is still months away, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year made headlines this week. That's because Commanders head coach Dan Quinn raved about his talented quarterback.
At this Thursday's press conference, Quinn let opposing teams know that Daniels is relentlessly working on his craft this offseason. He suggested the LSU product could be even better this fall.
"There is no flinch in Jayden Daniels," Quinn told reporters. "He’s an absolute like, as focused and relentless as you could about getting better. And so that’s why I said for us around here, man, we appreciate that and there’s a lot of things that he and the rest of us are really digging in hard on to say, all right, can we get this better? And if he does that, I do that, others do that … there’s a lot of space we can get better at."
Quinn wasn't done raving about Daniels' work ethic this Thursday.
"He and his teammates, they’ve really put in a lot of work together. I’d say that probably is just, it’s felt excellent, in terms of like the attitude of the guys and their work, to really put it in," Quinn continued. "You can sense when people are going for it, and you know, he’s certainly one that is."
If Daniels takes his game to another level this season, the Commanders should be considered a threat to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
The Commanders will kick off their 2025 season against the New York Giants.
