Scott Hanson has become known as the voice of NFL Sundays in households across America. Since 2009, he's hosted "NFL RedZone," which provides live coverage of each NFL game from 1 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET.
Hanson alternated between every game without commercials, showing viewers teams about to score and notable plays such as turnovers.
According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, "Hanson's contract with NFL Media expired after the NFL season," and is now "in talks with NBC Sports about a wide-ranging job that could include Olympics and NFL coverage."
Hanson has experience with NBC Sports, as he was the lead host of "Gold Zone" this past summer at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The show provided viewers with a condensed highlight reel of all the sporting events, saving them from the challenge of trying to watch each one live simultaneously.
McCarthy also reported, "NBC is eying Hanson to return as Gold Zone’s primary prime-time host for the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics and possibly the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics."
It's worth noting that Hanson has still been in talks with NFL Media about returning to "NFL Redzone" but McCarthy's sources say the "talks have stalled.
It's unclear when a decision might come from him but if he does, in fact, leave NFL Media, that would be a gut-wrench to football fans.
