The Chicago Bears are off for the summer following organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, and now we know exactly when all of the players will return to team facilities for the start of training camp.
Rookies are expected to be back in the building on July 19th with veterans returning on July 22nd.
That's not the only key training camp dates for the Bears to add to the upcoming summer calendar. The NFL also announced the joint practice schedule for all 32 teams, including two sessions that will be hosted in Chicago.

People might not care too much about this compared to the actual preseason games, but joint practices are very important, especially for a team with a new coaching staff. Head coach Ben Johnson even considered these days of practice to be something that he feels "strongly" about.
"Just a little bit different will be good for us. For everybody, coaches and players alike," Johnson explained. "It’ll be fun to go against a different scheme. That thought process, the problems that arise that way, but also for our players being able to compete against a different opponent. The controlled setting of it is really important. I'm excited for both of those opportunities."
The first joint practice will be held on August 8th with the Miami Dolphins, two days before the preseason game at Solider Field between the two teams. That day of practice will be the first day the new-look offense and defense will face another defense in a live situation.
The second joint practice will be held on August 15th with the Buffalo Bills, again two days before the team's second preseason game.
I, for one, am excited to see how Ben Johnson's offense with quarterback Caleb Williams looks against a different opponent and how Dennis Allen's defense fares against two high-powered AFC offenses. These should be some fun days of camp.
