NFL releases major Travis Kelce announcement

The Kansas City Chiefs are 15-1 and rolling into the final week of the regular season planning on resting stars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce they have locked up a first-round bye and home field through the AFC playoffs.

That means Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos will have a different feel to it.

But one thing about the Chiefs remains the same: They are absolutely hoarding attention-getting honors.

Mahomes is the centerpiece for coach Andy Reid, but Kelce has become an off- and on-field celebrity as well ... as dating the No. 1 pop star on the planet will do for a guy.

How high-profile is Kelce now, with TV gigs and movie roles in addition to his Super Bowl rings?

The NFL just released a major announcement about the fan vote for the 2025 Pro Bowl, and the winner is ... Kelce, who topped all players with 252,200 votes.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow and Jared Goff round out the top five of the voting. ... all deserving, too, with Detroit Lions fans obviously making their push.

But Lions fans can't match the super-combo of Chiefs fans plus Swifties.

Kelce, at age 35, remains a force for Kansas City. But he's at a career low in touchdowns (three), a stat that suggests he's very much a supporting cast guy now ... though he is top-10 in the NFL among receivers with 97 catches this season.

In the end, of course, Kelce doesn't want to go to the Pro Bowl ... because teams that make the Super Bowl are exempt from doing so.

In his last game, Kelce recorded eight catches for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers, breaking Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez's record for most touchdowns in franchise history (77).

So again, the numbers keep stacking up ... but the focus is right.

"The chemistry is at an all-time high right now, and I'm excited that we found a way to get the No. 1 seed and we're going into the playoffs playing our best football," Kelce told reporters at a news conference.

Kelce is also KC's Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.
