The 2020 NFL season may not get underway as planned due to the coronavirus pandemic, so the league reportedly is putting together a contingency plan, according to Sports Business Journal's John Ourand and Ben Fischer.
If the league has to push back the start date, they're aiming for a mid-October start with no bye weeks and a February 28 Super Bowl, according to the report.
The official schedule is set to release next month, but of course everything is relatively up in the air. The Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 7 in Tampa Bay, and the location of the championship game will not be changed.
The coronavirus pandemic is slowing down in some states while others are still seeing a rise in the number of cases, so it's extremely hard to predict when the season will start.
With the NBA, NHL, NBA and MLS seasons currently on hold, we could end up seeing every sport in action around the same time... and what a treat that would be.
