In an effort to get its vaunted homefield advantage back, one NFL franchise is reportedly cracking down on its season ticket holders.
According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, the Seahawks are trying to ensure that those who buy season tickets are actually showing up to the games following last year's 3-6 record at Lumen Field (former Quest and CenturyLink Field) — and excessive reselling could potentially jeopardize their status.

"We are happy to provide the ability to resell your tickets through the NFL Ticket Exchange," the franchise recently reminded its fans. "While occasional resale is permitted, renewal eligibility may be impacted if it is determined that your tickets were primarily used for resale purposes."
"At the conclusion of each season, accounts that resell a majority of their season tickets will be contacted and given an opportunity to respond before any renewal eligibility decisions are made," the team warned.
2024 was only the third time Seattle has lost more games than its won at home since opening its current stadium in 2002. After all, there's a reason they called it the "12th Man."
"It's great to be 7-1 on the road, but we've got to make this place a nightmare for teams that come in and play us and utilize our fans and the crowd and the 12s and kind of the whole '12 is 1' mantra," head coach Mike Macdonald said at the conclusion of the season. "We've really got to make that come to life when we're at Lumen [Field], so that's going to be a major focus for us this offseason."
Clearly, Seahawks brass is in agreement and is putting more of an emphasis on making sure their stadium is rocking each and every Sunday.
Back in February, the Green Bay Packers made an even steeper policy change by stating that anyone who sells 100% of their team's season tickets for an extended period of time will lose them.
