NFL Survivor Contest: The Mojo Keeps Rising to 10

Dallas was the biggest favorite on the board last week, an amazing -17, or even -17.5 depending on when you made the play. Nevertheless, they were nowhere near covering on Sunday and almost ended our nine-game winning streak here.

The Cowboys scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to get the win. Even if you had teased them you would have lost, but they came through for Survivor players ... and yes, that is now 10 wins in a row.

This week we are getting Saturday football with a trio of games to start the weekend. That means more teams on shorter rest though. No teams are on a bye week though so only those identified below are unavailable.

Survivor Pool Teams Used So Far:  Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys.

Record: 10-4

Week 15 Survivor Pool Recommendation

Only four teams are expected to win big this weekend, with the team expected to win biggest, Kansas City at Houston. Fading the Texans has been a winning strategy this season but it is just not available to us.

The other teams expected to win big: the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Green Bay Packers, who are hosting the Rams on Monday night. Buffalo and Philly make a ton of sense but it is hard to feel like Green Bay is a sure thing, even against the struggling Rams.

There are a lot of games that are projected to be close this week and a lot of games where I have no confidence in either side.

The Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles get the nod over the Bills this week even though the Bills are at home. That is because of the opponent — Chicago (who is also hosting Buffalo next week).

If you can't fade the Texans, the Bears are the next best bet. It is hard to see how the Bears will be able to slow down the Eagles' attack and even if the weather helps them out a little, Philly can keep it simple and win by just playing mistake-free football. The -8.5 is a dead number but this is a Survivor Pick so it is not relevant.

As for fading the Bears, Chicago is tops in the NFL in rushing and last in passing. That is a tough formula to win with in 2022. The defense is not slowing anyone down either, they are just a few slots above the bottom in points allowed. Chicago has also lost 6 games in a row. Getting off the mat to beat the team with the best record in the league doesn't feel likely.

We are running out of weeks to save teams for at this point. Philly is in Dallas next week so we probably wouldn't have used them then.

Let's fire away with the Eagles.
