NFL to Allow 3 Helmets Soon: Time for the Bear Logo to Emerge in Chicago

The NFL is everchanging, and one of the most exciting features of the game's progression is in the uniforms. In recent years, the NFL has allowed teams to have a second helmet, bringing new uniform combinations and looks to the gridiron. Now, it appears they're taking it a step further.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, teams in the re-design phase entering 2024 will be allowed to have a third helmet this season. All other teams can implement a new third helmet in 2025. This brings a world of possibilities for every team in the league. Designs could just feature another color with a team's current logo, or teams could use secondary logos and bring more light to some of the awesome designs around the league.

Chicago Bears New Helmet Possibilities

Zeroing in on the Chicago Bears, they already leveraged the second helmet look before the 2023 season. The team introduced an orange helmet, the first lid in team history that wasn't the traditional Bears navy blue. It still featured the traditional Chicago 'C' logo on the sides, just with the colors inverted from the standard helmet. But with the addition of a third helmet, it's time for the Bears to do the right thing: Bring the bear head logo to the helmets... NOW.

Look at these mock-ups. How cool would it be to have the bear visible on the uniform? The team recently changed its primary logo to the bear so the media would use it and visibility would increase. Why not throw it on the third alternate helmet since they refused to do it for the last helmet or even the on-field logo?
