NFL Week 10: Washington Commanders vs. Seattle Seahawks betting picks, preview

In one corner, a Washington Commanders team that sold off two premium defensive assets at the deadline and then won the week after anyway. In the other, a Seattle Seahawks team that just got destroyed, losing their standalone spot atop the division in the process. How might Week 10 fare for these two NFC clubs?

Washington Commanders vs. Seattle Seahawks: Betting Odds

Spread: Seattle -6.5, Over/under: 44.5 points, Washington +225 | Seattle -278

Washington handled New England last week, winning 20-17, moving to 4-5 in the process. A wild-card spot remains on the table for the Commanders despite trading both Montez Sweat and Chase Young, and any postseason push would come from Sam Howell's continued development at quarterback.

Seattle got blown out by Baltimore, losing by 34 points. The Seahawks now sport a -4 point differential on the season thanks to the defeat, and at 5-3, they're tied with San Francisco for first place in the NFC West. The Seahawks should still be in the playoffs by season's end, but they need to see a far better game out of Geno Smith in this one.

Washington is 4-4-1 ATS while Seattle is 4-3-1. The Commanders are 5-4 to the under and the Seahawks are 5-3.

Betting Picks for Washington vs. Seattle

Seahawks -6.5

As mentioned, Seattle is going to need to see a better game out of Geno Smith, and this matchup with Washington is just what the doctor ordered. You see, the Commanders secondary has solidified themselves as one of the worst in the NFL.

They rank inside the bottom 10 for most 20+ yard passes allowed, most yards allowed per pass attempt, most passing yards per game, and pass defense DVOA.

With a clean sweep of bottom-tiered rankings, the Seahawks passing attack should find plenty of lanes to make something happen with their trio of WRs in DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Since Pete Carroll became head coach of the Seahawks, Seattle is 48-29-4 ATS following a loss, good for a 62.1% rate, the best mark in football.

We like that trend to continue here against a weaker Washington team.
