Well, NFL Super Wild Card Weekend is in the books. All in all, we got more good games than expected and a bunch of teams with some questions to answer. You gotta love the NFL playoffs.
In terms of the betting success, it was a mixed bag. It is always tough when you are making picks on every game because in reality I did take some passes, for better or worse.
Nevertheless ... here are the results and a quick review of what we saw (pretty even).
Spread Picks: 4-2
Total Picks: 3-3
Prop Picks: 2-4
Spread Pick: 49ers -8.5 (win)
San Fran did get the easy win I expected. Maybe even easier.
Total Pick: Under 41.5 (loss)
I did not see the 49ers covering this number all by themselves.
Prop Pick: Brandon Aiyuk Over 3.5 Receptions (loss)
He had three catches at halftime so it was looking like an easy cash. Alas, he did not get another grab.
Spread Pick: Jaguars +2.5 (win)
It did not look good in the first quarter but the Jags refused to give up and the Chargers probably got their coach fired.
Total Pick: Over 47.5 (win)
It was another high-scoring game. Both teams in the 30s made this an easy cover.
Prop Pick: Evan Engram over 4.5 Receptions (win)
Once Trevor Lawrence stopped throwing the ball to the opponents, Engram was his most popular target - 7 grabs.
Buffalo -13.5 (loss)
The Bills did not play a great game and escaped with a win. Those who sold early when they were up big were smart.
Over 43.5 (win)
This total was an easy cover with both teams scoring in the 30s.
Prop Pick: Jaylen Waddle Over 47.5 Yards (loss)
He did not have a good game and came up a few yards short. His early drop was a killer.
Spread Pick: Giants +3 (win)
I figured at worst we would get a push with this number, not that the Giants would control the game and win.
Total Pick: Under 47.5 (loss)
New York has scored over 30 points just one other time this season. Minnesota’s defense is one of many reasons for its early exit.
Prop Pick: Daniel Jones Anytime TD Scorer (loss)
Jones led the team in rushing, carrying 17 times. Alas, no TDs. I might bet this one again next week though.
Spread Pick: Bengals -8.5 (loss)
The Bengals did not play well on Sunday night. Clearly, they did not heed the warning that Buffalo presented to them earlier in the day.
Total Pick: Under 40.5 (loss)
I thought this would be a low-scoring game but Baltimore got one more trip to the end zone than I expected. Plus a defensive TD.
Prop Pick: Outcome of Baltimore Ravens 1st Drive Score (loss)
The coaches for Baltimore have some explaining to do, in a variety of areas.
Spread Pick: Dallas -2.5 (win)
Dallas won with ease on Monday night. The cover was never really in doubt.
Total Pick: Under 45.5 (win)
That half-point saved a push as a garbage time TD added to the score.
Prop Pick: Tom Brady over 277.5 Passing Yards (win)
If it was Brady’s last game, at least he gave his arm a workout.
Look for individual game picks over the rest of the week.
