The Kansas City Chiefs are getting set to host the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday night, and people are going wild about one issue: the weather.
The temperature for the game is expected to be around 0 degrees Fahrenheit (there is a high of 12 and low of -3 expected, according to Weather.com). The temperature is expected to approach the record low of -10 in Kansas City for the date, which was set in 1979.
The conditions could approach the coldest in NFL history.

Consider that the Dolphins play their home games in Miami Gardens, Florida, and haven’t had a kickoff temperature lower than 45 degrees this season. Many people think the temperatures will present a problem for Miami.

Playing in freezing temperatures will be a major change, but many Dolphins players were saying the temperatures wouldn’t bother them.
Michael Irvin once said, “man when we played in that cold weather, we was cold.”

The lowest temperature the Dolphins have played in based on temperature at kickoff was 10 degrees on Dec. 21 in 2008. That game was also at Kansas City, and the Dolphins won that game.
Forecasts indicate the Miami Dolphins are bound to play their coldest game in franchise history in Kansas City on Saturday night.
Their previous coldest game, by temperature at kickoff, was 10 degrees, also at KC on Dec. 21, 2008, a 38-31 Dolphins win.
