NFLPA report card reveals Raiders' thoughts on HC Josh McDaniels

Listen up, Josh McDaniels. Your players want you to change.

In the NFL Players Association team report cards released Wednesday, the Raiders head coach took some hits.

"The lowest-graded category was the coaching staff," the report card noted. "Player respondents felt that McDaniels is less likely to listen to players and keeps them for longer hours than other HCs."

Per the report card, seven of eight coaches rated as most efficient with players' time made the playoffs.

NFL players rated their teams on eight factors, including the quality of team facilities, staff, food, travel accommodations and treatment of families. In all, 1,300 players were surveyed as part of the initiative meant to help NFL free agents determine their next stop.

Aside from the coaching staff, the Raiders ranked highly in eight other categories and finished third overall in the league.

McDaniels, a Bill Belichick disciple, may want to emulate Rams HC and Super Bowl LVI champion Sean McVay.

"McVay supports his players as well as any other coach in the NFL," Los Angeles' report card said.

McDaniels doesn't have to copy McVay's exuberant personality, but he can be more considerate of his players. It could make Las Vegas a more attractive destination for free agents.

The Raiders have several selling points already. Per OverTheCap, they're $48.5M under the cap, third in the NFL. Also, Nevada has no state income tax.

But the team can make improvements, starting with McDaniels' coaching methods.
