In the yearly NFL Top-100 player rankings, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott soared 48 spots from his 2025 placement, landing 31st on the entire list. It is the third-highest ranking of the long-time Dallas QB, behind finishing 14th in 2016 and 18th in 2023.

As an admitted massive defender of the often-debated star, I can’t help but enjoy his rise back up these ranks, especially after an injury-riddled 2024 season the year prior.

Prescott proved with his performance last year that there is plenty left in the tank and that he is the person to lead the franchise through the Brian Schottenheimer era. In fact, I would argue that this placement will be far-surpassed by Prescott’s ranking next year, as this offense seems poised to take an even greater leap in 2026.

My unconditional admiration for #4 aside, I would understand fans asking how he got this placement, and who he comes in (and likely behind) on the list; so, that’s what I’ll go over next.

Dak Prescott’s Case For The Top-31 After 2025

2025 Stats: League-Leading 404 Completions, 67.3% Completion Percentage, 32 Total TD’s, 4,552 Passing Yards.

The dreadful Dallas defense in 2025 may have made you forget just how dominant Dak Prescott was statistically. By all accounts, it was one of the best seasons in his career.

He led the NFL in completions for the second time, finished top-3 in passing yards, top-5 in passing touchdowns, and top-5 in QBR. I could name more, but I think you get the point: the numbers show an electric season last year, which is what gives him his high ranking on the list.

No, they did not win enough games, and Prescott himself would tell you there were moments where he could’ve been better, but all in all, it is hard to argue with the player’s decision on this one when you unbiasedly consider his contributions in 2025.
