Nick Bosa compares Brock Purdy to iconic golfer Scottie Scheffler, lauds the 49ers QB’s humble personality
Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have been favored by Lady Luck in recent years. The team landed a second version of Tom Brady in Brock Purdy in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The starting quarterback for the team has proven his mettle on the field and shown that he can cut it amongst the best players at his position and continue to outperform them. However, his game is not the best thing about him.

Hear it from his own teammates: Nick Bosa, the edge rusher for the San Francisco 49ers, in his recent press conference following the OTA’s compared his quarterback to the best golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler. Bosa was appreciative of his evolving leadership style and his personality.

I think he's definitely getting a little more vocal within the building. I don't think he's ever going to change. I don't think he's somebody that's going to change even when he gets paid next year. He's a man of faith. He kind of reminds me of Scottie Scheffler, except he didn't get arrested. Nick Bosa said

That unfortunate incident is definitely going to be following Scheffler a lot; his recent arrest prior to Round 2 of the PGA Championship is hard to forget.

Nick Bosa feels confident about the San Francisco 49ers’ odds to return to the Super Bowl under Brock Purdy

The defensive linebacker sees a change in Purdy this season. He has become more confident and is slowly but surely coming into touch with his newfound role as the leader of this team.

With respect to his personality, coaches and his teammates have continued to laud him for continuing to be as humble and coachable as ever. Brock Purdy knew the uncertainty he came from, and he expressed gratitude over having the opportunity to play football at this level.

The runner-up to win the MVP is next up for a massive contract extension. The 49ers understand they ought to pay him in order to keep him on the team, and they are confident moving forward with him as their floor general. However, neither Purdy nor John Lynch nor Kyle Shanahan are rushing things when it comes to his contract

The money is unlikely to change Mr. Irrelevant, as he is indeed a man of faith, as Bosa described him. The same applies to Scottie Scheffler; he is not the most outgoing person, but when it comes to his craft, nobody can do it better than him.

The golfer made headlines after a video of him being handcuffed and arrested for disobeying the rules of a police officer at the scene of an accident went viral. Scheffler has since been released and ended up taking the T8 position at the PGA Championship.
