Nick Chubb has a prime chance to defy the odds in the 2024 NFL season

When the Cleveland Browns lost Nick Chubb for the 2023 season, all looked lost.

But that wasn't the case for the Browns, who rallied and found a way to be a competitive team without the most efficient running back in the league.

It isn't guaranteed that Chubb will be 100 percent healthy at the start of the 2024 season. However, if he is, there is a real opportunity that he could defy the oddsmakers and win an Offensive Player of the Year award by the end of next season.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Chubb has +5,500 odds of winning the Offensive Player of the Year award.

Directly ahead of him are names like Michael Pittman Jr. (+5,000), Patrick Mahomes (+4,500) and Joe Burrow (+4,500).

Coming off a devastating leg injury, the question will be if Chubb gets the necessary offensive touches to be in contention for the award.

Judging by how Chubb has recovered from injuries in the past, I do not doubt that he will be the same running back when he returns.

As one of the league's toughest runners and most versatile backfield options, Chubb not only has the opportunity to defy the odds in 2024. I think he will. And in the process, he may also win Comeback Player of the Year.
