During Friday night’s ABC broadcast of the 2025 NFL Draft, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban made an interesting statement regarding one of the tight ends that was selected.

Saban said that not landing former LSU tight end and New York Jets second-round pick Mason Taylor was the biggest recruiting mistakes of his career.

Saban actually coached Taylor’s dad, Jason during his two-year stint with the Miami Dolphins.

Taylor received an offer from Alabama but never visited the Crimson Tide.

He would go on to have an impressive career in Baton Rouge. Taylor finished his tenure at LSU with 129 catches for 1,306 yards and six touchdowns.
