ESPN "College GameDay" analyst and former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban recently concluded his first year on television.
After a historic career on the sidelines, Saban joined the "College GameDay" crew, traveling around the country to preview the top college football games.
As the season came to a close and the Ohio State Buckeyes were crowned the national champions, Saban's time on air concluded, but that didn't end his feature in a couple of podcasts, including "The Pivot" with former LSU Tigers defensive back Ryan Clark.
During an episode with Clark and the cast of "The Pivot," Saban spoke about his time as the Tigers' head coach from 2000 to 2004, helping the Tigers win the 2003 national championship.
He then left the Tigers, taking his talents to the NFL, serving as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
Saban recently admitted leaving LSU to coach at the professional level was the "biggest mistake" he ever made.
"When I left LSU, that was probably the biggest mistake that I ever made, not because we didn't have success in Miami," Saban said, per Austin Nivison at CBS Sports. "I enjoyed coaching in Miami. I found out in that experience that I like coaching college better because you can develop players personally, academically, athletically and all that a little more than pro ball."
Saban coached the Dolphins from 2005 to 2006. He had a short stint as a head coach at the NFL level and earned a 15-17 record in two seasons with the Dolphins.
Despite the regret of leaving the Tigers for the NFL, Saban wound up establishing one of the greatest college football dynasties in the history of the sport.
After his time with the Dolphins, Saban served as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2007 to 2023.
During his time with the Crimson Tide, Saban helped the powerhouse SEC program secure six national title victories and nine SEC championships.
