Usually when a team wins the Super Bowl (especially the way the Eagles did it) the first question on everyone's mind is: will they repeat?
But as Philadelphia gets set to hand out its championship rings this week, that's the last thing their head coach wants to talk about.
With the start of the 2025 NFL season just around the corner, Nick Sirianni is stressing to his players that its not necessarily about going back-to-back but rather sustained success over a long period of time.
"You either can be right where you are, or you can look at it like, 'How are we going to get back to the Super Bowl?' Error," Sirianni told NBC Sports Philly. "Man, resting on your laurels and resting on your past accomplishments? Error. That builds your confidence and stuff like that. But I think it's just again, being right back into [what you're doing now]."
"That doesn't mean that it's easy," the coach admitted. "You're in the building, and everyone has the common goal of getting better, and this and that. But then you go outside, and there are things pulling you in different directions because of the success. And that's where it becomes tricky."
"It's just making sure that you're focused and locked in of where you are in each individual day. I know that's boring. But success takes what it takes."
The Eagles have reached two Super Bowls in four years under Sirianni's watch. And while the team would obviously want to repeat as world champs next year, their coach is preaching that it's a marathon not a sprint.
Philly begins its title defense with a Thursday night game against the rival Cowboys in Week 1 before a SB LIX rematch vs. Kansas City 10 days later.
