Fox Sports personality Nick Wright is being trolled on social media this week because of one of his takes from the 2024 NFL season.
Last December, the New England Patriots were struggling and well on their way to landing a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Drake Maye, meanwhile, was having an inconsistent rookie year that included 15 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.
Since the Patriots went 3-14 and were in desperate need of a boost, Wright suggested the front office should trade Maye so they could land Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in the first round of the 2025 draft.
"A not totally insane scenario: The Patriots fall in love with Shedeur, and instead of trading the #1 pick, they trade Drake for a Top 5 pick," Wright said. "They could then potentially draft Shedeur AND Travis. And then, for the hell of it, fire Mayo & hire Deion."
Well, it turns out that scenario was insane.

Whaddya say @kevinwildes??
The Patriots are watching Maye blossom into an MVP-caliber quarterback this season. As for Sanders, he's currently listed as the No. 2 option on the depth chart for the Cleveland Browns.
Let's also not forget that Mike Vrabel is a proven winner in the NFL. Although there's no denying Deion Sanders' box office appeal, we're not sure if he can lead a pro franchise on a deep playoff run.
The Patriots are legitimately a contender in the AFC. At 6-2, they're in first place in their division and only one game back of the No. 1 seed.
What helps the Patriots is they have a fourth-place schedule this season. They'll face the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers,N New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants over the next five games.
There's a very good chance Wright's take about Maye and the Patriots will look even worse in two months from now.
