No Gaps, Only Goals For The Atlanta Falcons In 2025
USA TODAY Sports

If you examine the depth chart for the Atlanta Falcons roster, currently, there are not many holes outside of the interior defensive line; however, Atlanta intends to maintain zero deficiencies at any position through 2025.

The wide receiver room is led by Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and Ray-Ray McCloud, and it looks like Kyle Pitts will stay put at least through this upcoming season. It is a contract year for him, and it will be crucial for him to eat up targets moving into the following offseason.

Honestly, the Falcons will move into the regular season with an inexperienced quarterback in Michael Penix Jr. Hence, the reason for not wanting any holes at any position. This is also a crucial year for the Atlanta Falcons as a whole, being that the team hasn't made the playoffs since 2017, and has been unable to gain much momentum in pressuring opposing quarterbacks.

The defense has been buttoned up with the addition of Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. through the draft, and the team has also added veteran edge rusher Leonard Floyd, as well as the athletic Divine Deablo at linebacker. Atlanta may look to strengthen its interior defensive line due to the departure of Grady Jarrett within the next few weeks, but it has minimal salary cap funds to do so in free agency.

Kirk Cousins is a valuable asset to have coming off the bench, but Atlanta has complete faith in Penix Jr. to get the job done as a sophomore quarterback who has seen very little playing time. That position will either make or break Atlanta, as the team will face four playoff teams from a year ago within the first five weeks of the season.

Atlanta has been assembling a roster of talent that will be put in a position to win now while keeping any weak spots hidden. For Atlanta, it's a make-or-break season.
