Fans searching for an NFL "Thursday Night Football" game on Amazon for Jan. 2 will be disappointed as there are no pro matchups on television until Saturday, Jan. 4. There may not be an NFL TNF matchup in Week 18, but there are two college football games for those looking for alternative TV options.
Another wrinkle is the lack of a "Monday Night Football" game on the Week 18 schedule.
The NFL prefers for the final slate of games to all take place on the weekend with the playoff seeding up for grabs. With college football's regular season over, the NFL does have two games on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Ahead of the NFL playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens host the Cleveland Browns at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time to begin the Week 18 schedule on Saturday. The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 8 p.m. to conclude Saturday's doubleheader. Both games are on ABC and ESPN.
Fans will have two college football games on TV for Thursday as the Sugar Bowl between the No. 2 seed Georgia Bulldogs and No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish was rescheduled from New Year's Day. This College Football Playoff game kicks off at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
