Have you seen the North Texas offense yet?
The Mean Green have one of the most fun teams in college football, with a high-powered attack, occasionally questionable defense, and games full of lots and lots and lots of points. It’s only blip this year was a 63-36 loss to USF, and now they have to win out and get a little help to get to the American Conference Championship.
However, go 11-1, win the American to be 12-1, and North Texas will almost certainly be in the College Football Playoff.
Charlotte, on the other hand, is just getting going under head coach Tim Albin.
This is a true rebuild, but the coaching staff is good, the team plays hard, and …
It will have to pull off something big to hang around.

Not only have the 49ers won a game against an FBS team this year, it hasn’t been within single digits, thanks to an offense with no running game, no scoring pop, and problems when it has the chances to score.
On the flip side, North Texas has been plowing through everyone with a nation-leading 45 points per game. The running game is good, the passing attack is great, and this bunch sets a warp-speed pace that will be tough for Charlotte to handle. But …
Can the 49ers force a slew of big mistakes?
Turnovers aren’t a problem for the Mean Green, but a few weeks ago, they couldn’t stop giving the ball away to South Florida in the blowout loss.
The 49ers have to do whatever they can to control the clock. North Texas isn’t even close to slowing down the run, allowing 200 yards or more in every game but two. It won’t be easy, but at home, it’ll take a perfect storm to keep this in range, and …
The weather is supposed to be perfect.
And about those turnovers North Texas gave up a few weeks ago, that was an aberration.
The Mean Green defense might not be anything great, but it’s wonderful at forcing takeaways. It might only get one or two, but Charlotte has to be perfect, and it won’t be.
With all of that said, North Texas played two road games this year - Army and Western Michigan - and both went to overtime. Even so …
