Odell Beckham Jr. confirmed on The Pivot Podcast Tuesday that he has accepted a six‑game suspension from the NFL for a failed performance‑enhancing‑drug test stemming from the 2024 season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, a development that immediately affects his market as a free agent.
The suspension appears on the NFL transaction wire the same day, putting a firm, short‑term timeline on when Beckham (if signed) would be eligible to play.
Accepting the suspension means that Beckham will be unavailable for six regular‑season games after any signing, effectively sidelining him until roughly Week 12.
This latest update comes less than two months after Beckham insisted that he was "not done yet" and still intends to sign with a team after last playing for the Miami Dolphins in 2024.

Beckham’s recent production has been modest. After five 1,000-yard campaigns in his first six NFL seasons, his production dipped in 2020 with the Cleveland Browns and has been slowly declining ever since.
He spent eight games with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 (27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns), en route to his first Super Bowl title, but spent the 2022 season recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Super Bowl LVI.
Beckham then played 14 games with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 (35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns) and nine with the Dolphins last season (nine receptions for 55 yards) leading up to his suspension.
Potential fits are likely to be teams needing veteran depth, vertical-threat capability or mentorship for younger receivers, but given that he won't be available until Week 12 at the earliest, it will almost certainly have to be a contender.
Some teams that could emerge by that point in the season are the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, among others.
However, any possible suitor would almost certainly require a workout and medical review and will negotiate a low‑risk, short‑term contract given Beckham’s timeline and background.
