Odell Beckham Jr. named in assault investigation; Baltimore Ravens WR denies allegations
Reggie Hildred-USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has reportedly been named a suspect in an assault investigation, with an unidentified woman claiming to police that he put his hands on her in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, the assault allegations stem from an incident a few weeks ago in Los Angeles before Beckham Jr. signed with the Ravens. The woman told law enforcement that Beckham Jr. went up to her and grabbed her throat, lightly applying pressure.

The alleged incident occurred at Delilah, a hot spot in Los Angeles that offers food and drinks with a 1920s vibe. According to TMZ’s report, both the woman and Beckham Jr. remained at the location after the alleged incident.

A representative told TMZ that they aren’t aware of any investigation into Beckham Jr. and the 30-year-old wide receiver vehemently denies any allegation of wrongdoing against the woman.

John Terzian, the owner of Delilah, told TMZ that they were made aware of the investigation but a review of their security camera footage couldn’t corroborate the woman’s allegations.

“We were contacted about an investigation and reviewed the videos, the claim is false. There is no evidence of this person even being in the area where she claims the incident occurred.”

Beckham Jr. missed the entire 2022 NFL season as he recovered from ACL surgery after tearing the ligament in his knee during Super Bowl LVI. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Beckham Jr. was taken off a plane at Miami International Airport in November after concerns over his health.

The Ravens signed Beckham Jr. this offseason with the hopes of incentivizing quarterback Lamar Jackson to play for them next season. However, there remains some belief around the NFL that Jackson could sit out in 2023 rather than play on the franchise tag.
