Throughout his 10-year career, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has established himself as one of the most recognizable players in today's era of the NFL.
However, with less than a month until the regular season starts, Beckham still sits as a free agent. After his 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins, accumulating just nine receptions and 55 yards, it's clear his production is slowing down.
His name made its rounds on X after a fake account imitating ESPN insider Adam Schefter, named Adam Shelfer, falsely reported that the wide receiver himself announced his retirement from the NFL.
The false report has since taken off, receiving over 200 comments, 2,000 reposts, 20,000 likes and 650,000 views, causing Beckham to address it personally.
The veteran made it very clear he's not finished with football just yet, saying, "Not done yet… thanks for hr concerns and have a blessed day," via X.

Time will tell if another team wants to take a chance on the wide receiver, though, with an article from Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports claiming the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Giants, the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers are his best fits.
There's no doubt that Beckham has had a solid NFL career so far, accumulating 575 receptions, 7,987 yards, 59 touchdowns, three Pro Bowl selections and Second-Team All-Pro honors twice.
However, the average Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver has 737 receptions, 11,243 yards, 86 touchdowns, six Pro Bowl selections, while earning First-Team All-Pro honors twice, showing Beckham's numbers simply don't stack up.
Barring a career renaissance at 32 years old and coming off his worst season ever, his chances to one day be enshrined in Canton don't look very high.
