Here's the full story of Nick Jones, who decided to take up Accelerator Active Energy on a Travis Kelce tattoo challenge.

When Accelerator Active Energy put out a challenge on Instagram asking if there was someone bold enough to get a Travis Kelce pin-up tattoo, they probably didn’t expect a police officer to be the one answering the call. But for Nick Jones, an officer from Delta, Ohio, it was an easy yes.

“There was zero hesitation at all,” says Jones in an interview with Arrowhead Addict. “I’m all about doing things just to have a good story later on.”

Inspired by the viral Jason Kelce pin-up tattoo that gained attention on New Heights, it was decided that Travis deserved the same ink treatment. Accelerator put out the call to feature a pin-up TK embaracing the brand—shooting fire from the bottom, of course.

The tattoo was done by artist Tara Farkas of Toledo Tattoo Company, and once Jones followed through, the brand delivered on its promise: 25 cases of Accelerator and a signed Kelce jersey.

“The tattoo comes with a fun story, and honestly, it’s a pretty great tattoo anyway,” Jones said. “Plus, I’ve got to show some love to a fellow Ohioan like Travis.”

As for the reaction from Jones' fellow officers, the 29-year-old Jones admits the reception has ben "mixed".

"Some think it’s hilarious, some see the deal as completely worth it, and some think I’m out of my mind. All are probably correct, but I don’t take myself too seriously, so the opportunity to create a fun memory arises, I’m going to take it! The guys on my shift will get to reap some of the benefits as I’m sure I will be bringing a case or two to the Police Department."

While the stunt has already gained attention from Jason Kelce, who rated the likeness a perfect “10 out of 10”, Jones is holding out hope for a reaction from Travis himself. But he’s not the only one watching closely. His family is especially hoping for one more celebrity response.

“My wife and step-daughters are huge Taylor Swift fans,” says Jones. “So when they were told about the tattoo, they were all for it ... if Taylor does reach out or give a reaction, it would completely make their day.”

The family’s support doesn’t end there. For the last couple of years, his step-daughters have pushed him to draft Travis onto his fantasy football team. “I’m definitely going to have a conversation with the guys in my league, because this tattoo should ensure I automatically get Travis on my team next year,” Jones said, laughing.

While Jones admits he's a Dallas Cowboys fan at his core, he's quite willing to occasionally root for the Chiefs, especially when given the chance to take down the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Jones says he was rooting for Kansas City, and despite the abysmal result, at least he can take away some attention from a former Eagle in his own way.

“I couldn’t let an Eagle have all the spotlight. I had to back Travis up.”
