Ohio State's true freshman wide receiver, Jeremiah Smith, was a key component in helping his team on the path to their national championship win.
In 2024, he appeared in 16 games, accumulating 76 receptions, 1,3135 yards, and 15 touchdowns. His performance on the field led him to be named AP second-team All-American.
He's even caught the attention of Buckeyes legend Cris Carter, who shared his honest opinion of Smith during an appearance on the "Up & Adams Show."
"I mean, he is a special, special player, and he is a generational player, and he's been that good, and he has that work ethic that we like," he said. "He's not a diva. He's like a tight end, running back, linebacker. He has that type of mindset... This kid's got it, he's special."

Of course, Carter knows what it looks like to be a great receiver for Ohio State, spending three years with the program racking up 150 receptions, 2,421 yards and 26 touchdowns.
The hype surrounding Smith and his sophomore season has yet to die down either, as he enters 2025 with some lofty expectations.
In an article from ESPN predicting who will be earning All-America honors in 2025, Smith, along with Alabama's Ryan Williams are put down as the first-team wide receivers.
Smith will be able to get to work proving whether the hype is still warranted, with Ohio State set to open its season at home against the Texas Longhorns on Aug. 30.
