The Ohio State-Michigan series has been about as back-and-forth as any other major rivalry in college football, albeit in a different way than most with the Buckeyes and Wolverines alternating decades of dominance.

Michigan handled the Buckeyes with ease during the John Cooper years in the 1990s before Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer's arrivals signaled the end of Michigan's impressive run.

Michigan has won four straight in the series sparking Wolverine hopes of more wins in the near future, hopes that were strongly challenged by Buckeyes superstar wide receiver's recent guarantee that he will not lose to the 'Team Up North' over the next two seasons.

On Tuesday, highlights and information surfaced regarding a Buckeye legend's Michigan game guarantee that had fans talking.

"Here is Ohio State corner Denzel Burke promising a win against Michigan. He finished his career 0-4 against the Wolverines and a 5th round draft pick #GoBlue," the page Underwood Unleashed wrote on X along with video of some of Burke's 2023 promise.

Burke's guarantee surfaced on November 21, 2023 with the Buckeyes preparing to take on the Wolverines in Ann Arbor, a game that Michigan won on its path to the 2023-24 National Championship.

"I'm very emotional," Burke said. "I'm trying not to get too out of character, but this game means a lot for us.

"And we're gonna get it done for the state of Ohio," he said prior to the  seventh-ranked Buckeyes' 30-24 loss to the top-ranked Wolverines at Michigan Stadium.

The video surfaced shortly after Jeremiah Smith's guarantee Tuesday.

"I'm not a sore loser, but I hate losing, and losing to that team up north was pretty crazy," Smith said.

"In the end, I think it really helped us play the way we did in the playoffs. But I didn't want to go to Ohio State and lose to that team up north.

"I just hate them. Just something about them. For the next two years, I promise you, I will not lose to them. I can't lose to them in the next two years."
