In just a few hours the Cincinnati Bengals will take the field for a battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a must-win for Joe Burrow and company as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The former No. 1 overall pick threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns last weekend against the Denver Broncos, carrying his team to a 30-24 victory. He set an NFL record with at least 250 yards passing and three touchdowns in eight straight games.
“This is one of the crazy ones I’ve been involved with in the NFL,” Burrow said after the game, via ESPN. “It feels like we had a couple of those this year, and it’s nice to come out on top in one.”
“...We know we can hang with anybody. We’ve proven that this year. We played everybody this year close. It’s just about making the plays down the stretch to win those games. Today we did. The last four weeks we have. We’ve got to continue to do it.”
It's been quite the year for Burrow after his home was burglarized during a Monday night showdown against the Dallas Cowboys. Model Olivia Ponton, who was staying at the home, phoned police about the break-in, which sparked rumors of a relationship between the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and Bengals quarterback.
Ahead of Saturday night's game, Ponton posted a four-word message on social media. "Peaceful at home," she said in a post on her Instagram account, which boasts nearly three million followers.
Burrow and the Bengals will be back out on the field in a must-win game on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast across ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.
