The Minnnesota Vikings have been one of the better franchises in the National Football Leauge and their 14-win season.

They haven't just been one of the better franchises, but the recognition they are getting is finally starting to match, as edge rusher Andrew Van Ginkel is the second Vikings player to make the NFL top 100 players at 88th overall, joining running back Aaron Jones.

Andrew Van Ginkel gets recognition he deserves

This past year was huge for Van Ginkel when it comes to how he's perceived. One thing that hasn't changed is how his teammates view him.

"He's one of the most versatile players that we have in his league," said former Miami Dolphins teammate Terron Armstead. "you don't understand how fast he is. He might be a 4.4,-4.5 guy. He's another relentless player. He plays with his hair on fire, and he has a lot of it."

Van Ginkel's play has always been really good from a multitude of different positions, and it showed up in a multitude of ways. One of the biggest reasons is how he reads plays.

After getting an interception for a touchdown on a screen pass in 2023 with the Dolphins, he scored two right around the line of scrimmage for touchdowns: one in a hook zone drop and the other on the same screen pass he scored on the year prior.

Van Ginkel had his best season in the National Football League this past year. He earned a starting not in the Pro Bowl Games while also getting a second-team All Pro nod as well. His 11.5 sacks were instrumental in taking the Vikings to another level on defense, not to mention his coverage ability gives him an edge over others in the NFL.

This is Van Ginkel's first ranking in the top 100, and he has the ability to shoot up the list next year.
