One of the biggest games on the Jaguars' 2025 schedule is when they host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 on Monday Night Football.

That matchup just got a little bit easier for Jacksonville following the latest NFL news of Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice getting suspended for the first six games of the season.

This is a big blow for Kansas City, as Rice is its No. 1 WR. Rice was on the verge of a breakout season in 2024, leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards. Unfortunately, a knee injury that he sustained in Week 4 cost him the rest of the season.

As a rookie in 2023, Rice caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. This is a golden opportunity for the Jaguars to make a statement against the best team of the past decade at home and under the primetime lights.

Jacksonville's secondary will still have to be well-prepared. The Chiefs have a ton of speed within their WR corps, featuring Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, and Tyquan Thornton. It will be heck of a test for the Jaguars' defensive backs, especially coming off a season in which Jacksonville's pass defense ranked dead last in the NFL.

The Jaguars are on a eight-game losing streak versus the Chiefs, last beating them back in 2009. In their latest matchup, Kansas City edged out Jacksonville 17-9 in Week 1 of the 2023 season. The most heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs came during the 2o22 AFC divisional playoff round, as the Jaguars came up short by a 27-20 final score.
