Only one pick makes sense for the Bears

The Chicago Bears' secondary went through a major overhaul early in the offseason.

They lost Kevin Byard II, Nahshon Wright, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Jonathan Owens and Jaquan Brisker.

Adding Coby Bryant and Cam Lewis should help mitigate some of the blow, but they still have some roster needs to address early in the 2026 NFL Draft.

That's why, of all the potential options they should consider, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren makes the most sense for them at No. 25.

The Bears need to draft Emmanuel McNeil-Warren

The Bears have one of the best DB coaches in the game. Al Harris helped Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland become All-Pros, and he helped Byard lead the league in interceptions last season.

Giving him a do-it-all safety like McNeil-Warren would work wonders for a secondary that failed to get stops when they weren't generating turnovers.

McNeil-Warren can stuff the run in the box and line up at linebacker. He can also hold his ground as a big nickel, and he can keep up with speedy wide receivers in coverage.

He's pretty similar to Nick Emmanwori, and Bryant already knows what it's like to play with a dynamic, hybrid safety like him.

Having Emmanwori line up all over the defense allowed the Seahawks to get creative and set up many different looks, and Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen should look to take a page out of their book.

The Bears' defensive line could also use some pass-rushers, but with the top options already gone at No. 25, McNeil-Warren might be the right call and the most likely player to contribute from day one.
