Only one pick makes sense for the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles might make the biggest post-NFL Draft move if they trade A.J. Brown.

What they do in the first round of the draft might be a hint of things to come, but GM Howie Roseman is also a man who appreciates value over anything else.

As such, he’s more likely to go with the best player available instead of considering positional need when he’s on the clock at No. 23. That doesn’t mean it might be the best decision this time.

Instead, Roseman and the Eagles should be looking to strengthen the trenches, especially on offense. Jordan Mailata has talked about retiring young, and Lane Johnson isn’t getting any younger. That’s why they must make a run at Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller.

Blake Miller is a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Eagles

Miller is the best natural left tackle in this class. That says a lot, given that at least four offensive tackles will most likely be taken in the first round.

While not a mauler like most old-school left tackles, Miller is incredibly athletic and bendy, with extensive experience as a blindside protector.

The Eagles can have him sit behind Mailata while he bulks up and refines his technique, getting a long-term solution at tackle for when any of their incumbent starters decides to ride into the sunset.

He might not be closer to a finished product than other guys like Monroe Freeling or Kadyn Proctor, but he also gives them the highest floor and the most NFL-ready tackle of the bunch.
