Only one team makes sense for Deebo Samuel

Even though the Washington Commanders had a disappointing season, Deebo Samuel did better than some anticipated.

The former San Francisco 49ers star amassed 72 receptions on 99 targets for 727 yards and five touchdowns, adding 17 carries for 75 yards and another score in 16 games (12 starts). Given that Jayden Daniels missed some time with multiple injuries, those numbers aren't half bad.

That's why, as quiet as his market has been early in free agency, he should still have a place in the NFL. Moreover, only a return to Washington makes sense for him.

The Commanders need to run it back with Deebo Samuel

The Commanders are coming off a disappointing season, so they probably don't want to have the oldest roster in the league again. Samuel has a history of injuries, just like Daniels. Even though he only missed one game last season, chances are he won't get healthier as he gets older.

That said, we're talking about a dynamic player who was in better shape last season, and his ability to impact almost every aspect of the offense is just what this team needs. The Commanders caught a tough break because they had to face a tougher schedule, and their star quarterback was out.

That said, they're a much better team than they were last season, and wiping the slate clean won't help them get any better. Samuel proved that he can still make an impact, and there's no way they should let him leave the nation's capital.
