Orlando Brown Jr. wants to play for Chiefs 'for a long time'

Orlando Brown Jr. officially became a member of the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday and he doesn't want to play anywhere else after his current contract expires.

Brown is heading into the final year of the four-year contract he signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a 2018 third-round pick and will need an extension if he wants to remain in Kansas City.

On Monday, the 24-year-old said he will do what it takes to land an extension with the Chiefs and he hopes the franchise feels the same way, per The Athletic's Nate Taylor.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach lauded Brown on Monday, saying he's a high-quality player. If he plays well, it certainly sounds like Brown will land an extension.

"I'm excited we were able to come to an agreement with the Ravens to acquire Orlando Brown, one of the best offensive tackles in the National Football League." Veach said, per the Chiefs website. "He's certainly a special kid. This guy is a Pro Bowl player with tremendous size, quickness and power. Not only is he physically talented, but he's incredibly bright and will fit in well in our offensive line room. We're thrilled to get him in a Chiefs uniform."

Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler, began his career as the Ravens' right tackle, starting 10 games there as a rookie and all 16 in 2019. He flipped to left tackle in 2020 after Ronnie Stanley went down with a season-ending ankle injury.
