Packers Acquire TE Mark Redman From Rams

The Packers have acquired tight end Mark Redman from the Rams for a 2028 seventh-round pick, per an announcement from Green Bay. The Rams have now cleared a spot for superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who is coming out of retirement to rejoin the team.

Redman, who went undrafted out of Louisville in 2025, spent all of last year on the Rams’ practice squad. With fellow Rams tight ends Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen, Tyler Higbee and Terrance Ferguson all seeing significant snaps, there was no path to playing time for Redman. That would have remained the case this season, especially after the Rams added second-round TE Max Klare in the draft.

The Packers entered the week in the market for depth behind Tucker Kraft, who is returning from the torn ACL he suffered last November. With a neck injury likely to shelve Luke Musgrave for some portion of the season, the Packers signed former Pro Bowler Jonnu Smith on Thursday. They also have Josh Whyle, Drake Dabney, Messiah Swinson, McCallan Castles and Thomas Yassmin under contract, though at least some of those players will not survive the 6 p.m. ET cutdown deadline.
