Green Bay Packers center Elgton Jenkins headed into Monday’s primetime matchup with the objective of helping his team secure a win against the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers entered the “Monday Night Football” showdown after a disappointing 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 9 and were looking for a bounce-back victory against the 6-2 Eagles.
Jenkins, however, had to exit the game late in the first half due to an ankle injury. The two-time Pro Bowler had to be carted off the field as he headed to the locker room to have his injury evaluated by the doctors.
Jenkins is currently in his seventh season in the NFL, all of which have been with Green Bay. The former Mississippi State Bulldogs star has started all eight games this season for the Packers and has been an integral piece to the team’s offensive line.
Unfortunately for Jenkins, he sustained a painful-looking injury deep into the second quarter. The 29-year-old’s left leg was pinned under teammate Jordan Love as the Packers quarterback was sacked on the play.

Jenkins was able to walk off the field after the incident, but he was seen with a significant limp as he exited the game. The team eventually called for the cart to transport Jenkins back to the locker room.
The Packers initially listed Jenkins as questionable to return. However, the team later announced that the Pro Bowl center would not return.
“Jenkins has been ruled out,” the team posted on X.

This is a tough blow for the Packers as they lose one of their most important offensive players with this development. Sean Rhyan will take Jenkins’ place as center, which could be the case for the foreseeable future if the latter is forced to miss time because of this injury.
As of writing, the Eagles have a 3-0 lead against the Packers as the game heads into the fourth quarter.
